Water Service Restored for All Affected Hollywood Hills Customers

August 7, 2026

LOS ANGELES (August 7, 2026) – LADWP crews completed repairs to a water main break on Wonderland Avenue in Hollywood Hills at around 2 P.M., restoring water service to all impacted customers. Crews remain onsite to complete backfill and street cleanup. Wonderland Avenue is closed between North Vado Drive and North Laurel Pass Avenue. The street is expected to reopen later this evening.

The water leak that occurred on the 12-inch water main was reported on Thursday, August 6, at approximately 1 P.M. LADWP crews restored water service at around 2:30 A.M. on Friday, August 7, and were performing street repairs when they discovered a second leak just a few feet away from the first leak, around 4 A.M. The incident disrupted water service to 300 customers but the majority were restored before midday Friday, and all were restored by 2 P.M.

With water service now fully restored to all affected customers, customers are advised to run their faucets and showers for 5 to 10 minutes. This will help flush out any sediment or trapped air that may be present in the water lines. The drinking water remains safe to drink and continues to meet all drinking water quality standards.

LADWP thanks customers for their patience and understanding. Customers who may have further questions about their tap water or would like to request a water quality test at their home or business can call the LADWP Water Quality Hotline at (213) 367-3182 between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. or 1-800-DIAL-DWP for 24-hour assistance.

The LADWP water system experiences 2-4 water pipe breaks per day and LADWP proactively monitors the water system for leaks using a variety of technologies and practices. With proactive pipe replacement, L.A.’s pipe leak rate is 36% lower than the national industry average of 25 leaks per 100 miles in FY 24-25.
