Pacific Palisades Customers May Experience Low Water Pressure or Loss of Water Service as LADWP Continues Addressing Leak to Valve

Pacific Palisades Customers Urged to Continue to Conserve Water

LOS ANGELES (October 11, 2026) – Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) crews continue working to reroute water around a section of pipe affected by a leak on an air vacuum valve-the valve is connected to a trunk line serving the Pacific Palisades community. While work progresses, customers may experience low water pressure or a loss of water service. As crews work on repairs, drinking water in the Pacific Palisades remains safe to drink.

With rain overnight and in the forecast today and tomorrow, LADWP is asking customers to be mindful of their water use with conservation measures including turning off their automatic irrigation and pool auto refill systems to help maintain system pressure and ensure stable supplies for the community.

LADWP has activated contingency plans to prepare the backup water supply for the area, installed earlier this year; in addition, all water tanks serving the Palisades are currently full.

Our goal is to maintain reliable water service and utilize all available measures to continue serving the community and we remain in close coordination with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) to ensure fire protection and emergency services throughout the duration of the incident.

To support public safety around the work site, all eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of Sunset Boulevard between Allenford Avenue and Mandeville Canyon Road remain closed. For everyone’s safety, cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

We thank our customers for their patience and cooperation as we remain focused on maintaining reliable water service to all in our service area. We’ll continue to share updates on www.LADWPNews.com as new information becomes available.
