WHAT
The Recycled Water Fill Station program returns to the City of Los Angeles to offer free water to qualifying residential customers, for use in gardens, landscaping and irrigation. As Los Angeles continues to experience extreme heat and prolonged high temperatures, customers are encouraged to take advantage of this program to keep their plants, trees, and shrubs healthy while reducing the use of potable water. Recycled water provides a reliable, sustainable option to support outdoor watering needs during these hotter-than -normal conditions.

BACKGROUND
The Recycled Water Fill Station program is part of the City of L.A.’s efforts to promote water conservation and educate LADWP customers on the important role recycled water plays in our sustainable water future.
With the record-breaking heat affecting communities across Los Angeles, using recycled water for outdoor irrigation is an easy and effective way to help plants stay hydrated while offsetting the use of precious drinking water.
Customers may use the recycled water for watering trees shrubs, landscaping, and general irrigation, helping reduce heat impacts on vegetation and lowering overall water demand.
To be eligible to receive free recycled water at the fill station, customers must complete a brief training class. Upon completion, they will receive up to 300 gallons of recycled water per visit.
