LOS ANGELES, CA (July 23, 2026) – LADWP welders completed repairs to a small pinhole leak on the 36-inch water pipe on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood this afternoon. With welding complete, LADWP crews will begin slowly refilling and repressurizing the pipe while closely monitoring for any issues before backfilling and temporarily repaving the area as part of our emergency response. LADWP will continue performing water quality testing to ensure all standards are met before returning the repaired 36‑inch pipe to service. LADWP remains on schedule to restore the water pipe to full operation and reopen the street by late Friday.

While the remaining emergency road repairs will allow us to reopen the street when complete, the street paving is temporary. LADWP crews will return in the coming weeks to complete permanent street repaving and repairs to a nearby bus pad and adjoining sidewalk. LADWP will coordinate with City of West Hollywood officials to inform the local community once work schedules are finalized and to reduce the impact of any lane closures required to complete the remaining work.

The following road closures remain in effect until further notice:

Hard Closures:

  • Sunset Blvd & Horn Ave
  • Sunset Blvd east of Larrabee St
  • Palm Ave & Santa Monica Blvd
  • Larrabee St & Santa Monica Blvd
  • Palm Ave (south and north of Nelles St)

Soft Closures:

  • Sunset Blvd & San Vicente Blvd
  • Sunset Blvd & Larrabee St (north/south)
  • Sunset Blvd west of Sherbourne Dr
  • Holloway Dr (Hancock Ave to Palm Ave)
  • Cynthia St & north San Vicente Blvd

We appreciate the Los Angeles and West Hollywood communities and motorists for their patience and understanding as our crews work diligently to resolve the issue and complete the necessary repairs.
