WINTER STORM OUTAGE UPDATE FOR SAT. JAN. 5, 2008-10:00 P.M.
All but 2800 Customers Restored
Los Angeles Department of Water (LADWP) crews are out in the field continuing to work around the clock to restore power to customers who have had their power interrupted. The crews have restored power to over 39,200 customers since last night. Additional crews will be reporting throughout the night to finish up the remaining outages and ready for any additional outages that occur due to storm conditions expected late tonight and tomorrow.
Over 30 crews are in the field at this hour. Currently 2,800 customers are without power of the utility’s 1.4 million electric customers.
There are circuit outages affecting the following areas and customers at 10PM today:
Westwood 1,200
Westchester 1,500
In addition, there are a few minor scattered outages affecting smaller groups of customers in a number of neighborhoods throughout the City.
The outages are due predominately to wires down due to storm conditions that began affecting the City Friday afternoon.
