Drinking Water Supply Permit for the North Hollywood West Wellhead Treatment Facility
Los Angeles, CA (November 16, 2023) – The California State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water (DDW) and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) invite you to participate in a public comment period and community meeting regarding the amendment of a drinking water supply permit that would allow LADWP to serve drinking water that has been treated by the North Hollywood West Wellhead Treatment Facility (Facility).
This permit amendment would allow LADWP to use this state-of-the-art treatment facility to remove contaminations from the San Fernando Groundwater Basin, help to restore the beneficial uses of the basin, and restore LA’s ability to safely operate the impacted drinking water wells in the North Hollywood West Well Field. Groundwater treated at the Facility will be blended with treated surface water from the Los Angeles Aqueduct Filtration Plant before being served to our customers. Join us at an upcoming community meeting to learn more.
