Power Restored to More than 71,500 LADWP Customers

LOS ANGELES — As of 8:00 p.m., approximately 21,647 customers are without power due to the recent rain storm and today’s high winds. The communities most affected are Historic South-Central, Exposition Park, East Hollywood, Harvard Heights, South Park, Larchmont and Wilmington. More than 71,562 customers have had their power restored since yesterday’s rain storm began.
The rain and wind storm caused severely dried out palm fronds, tree branches and other debris to fall on power lines, causing power outages. LADWP crews will continue working through the night to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
The following communities have the most number of customers currently impacted:
LADWP calls on all customers to be careful around downed or dangling power wires or poles. Always assume a downed line is still energized. Never touch one. Report any downed power lines immediately by calling the LADWP at 1-800-DIAL-DWP. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911.
