Power Outage Update

As of 11:00 p.m. Sunday
LOS ANGELES — With crews working through the night in dangerous conditions, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) tonight reports approximately 43,000 of LADWP’s 1.4 million electric customers are experiencing power service interruptions as heavy rain and winds caused outages in several neighborhoods. It is common for rain and wind storms to cause some temporary power outages as dried palm fronds, tree branches and other debris fall and make contact with power lines.

The following communities had the most number of customers impacted:

  • San Pedro: 13,900
  • Valley Glen: 3,100
  • Hyde Park: 3,000
  • Harbor Gateway: 2,400
  • Encino: 2,300
  • Tarzana: 2,200
  • Van Nuys: 2,200
  • Del Rey: 1,400
  • Northridge: 1,400
  • Panorama City: 1,300
  • Studio City: 1,200
  • Cheviot Hills: 1,200

LADWP crews will work around the clock to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
