Power Outage Update, 5:00 p.m.Approximately 9,800 Customers Without Power |
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) reports that as of 5:00 p.m., approximately 9,800 of its 1.4 million electric customers are experiencing power service interruptions due to outages caused by rain and winds. Crews are working throughout the city to restore service and will continue to work around the clock until all customers have been restored. The following communities have the most impacted customers: Reseda: 3,400 It is common for rain and wind storms, particularly the first significant storm of the season, to cause some temporary power outages as dried palm fronds, tree branches and other debris fall and make contact with power lines. LADWP crews will continue to work around the clock to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
As the rain continues, LADWP asks all customers to report power outages to the LADWP 24-hour hotline at 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397). Never touch a downed power line or anyone or anything in contact with it. Assume it is still energized, move away from the area and call 9-1-1. |
