LOS ANGELES — As of 4:00 p.m., 4,000 of the 1.4 million LADWP electric customers are experiencing power outages. The windstorm that began yesterday and continued through today caused outages as severely dried out palm fronds, tree branches and other debris fell and made contact with power lines. LADWP workers remain out in the field and are bringing back power as quickly and as safely as possible. The following communities have the most number of customers currently impacted:
LADWP urges all customers to use caution around downed or dangling power wires or poles. Always assume a downed line is still energized. Never touch one. Report any downed power lines immediately by calling the LADWP at 1-800-DIAL-DWP. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. For more information about outages, see LADWP’s Twitter page and/or News Page.
