LADWP and private contractor crews were on scene when the break occurred at the site of an ongoing construction project involving a major distribution line that moves water from the Valley to the central and southern parts of the City.

No injuries have been reported and water service in the area has not been interrupted.  LADWP water system crews are currently determining if any damage has occurred to private property adjacent to the pump station.  The pipeline involved serves as a major conveyance of water through the City and supplies water to Ivanhoe Reservoir and the Toyon Tanks, which are part of the LADWP’s water system.  Crews are rerouting water through other available pipelines to ensure a steady supply of water throughout the City.
