Washington, D.C. (April 30, 2024) – North Hollywood High School proudly represented Los Angeles and showcased their exceptional scientific knowledge and teamwork skills at the National Science Bowl Competition held in Washington, D.C. over the weekend. The team secured an impressive second-place finish, solidifying their position among the top science scholars in the nation.The National Science Bowl, organized by the U.S. Department of Energy, attracted 67 high school teams from across the country to compete in this prestigious event. North Hollywood High School’s remarkable performance in the rigorous competition is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and expertise in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects. In March 2024, North Hollywood High School took first place at LADWP’s Regional Science Bowl, allowing them to advance to the National event to represent the Los Angeles region.
Despite stiff competition, Lexington High School from Massachusetts emerged as the overall champion, while University High School from Irvine, California secured a commendable third-place finish.
North Hollywood High School’s participation in the National Science Bowl not only highlights the school’s academic expertise but also underscores the importance of STEM education in preparing students for future success in scientific fields.
