WHAT: Scrimmage for LADWP Science Bowl XXXII Regional Competition. This scrimmage allows students to familiarize themselves with the format, questions, buzzer system and also to help them prepare for the March 2 Regional event.
The Science Bowl features a game show format where moderators ask questions to two teams of four students. Students who answer toss-up questions the fastest with the correct answer earn their team five points and the opportunity to answer a bonus question worth 10 points. The team with most points at the end of the match is the winner.
The regional champion team will then advance to the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science National Science Bowl in Washington, DC, April 25, 2024.

MORE: LADWP Science Bowl is one of eight regional competitions in California and 65 nationwide at the high school level. Since the program began in 1991, more than 330,000 students have participated in this program. This year nationally about 9,000 students at the high school level will participate in 65 about regional competitions
LADWP regional championship teams boast five national titles and 15 top-five finishes, showcasing the talents of the city’s brightest high school science scholars. The competition covers the Los Angeles Unified School District area, including public, charter, private, and parochial schools.
