WHAT:
The Mayor and representatives of LADWP will highlight the recent increase in the rebate rate for LADWP’s turf replacement program. Both residential and commercial customers participating in the program will now be able to receive a rebate of $5 per square foot for replacing their grass lawns with drought-tolerant landscaping. The new rebate rate went into effect October 1, 2022. The rate was previously $3 per square foot.
The region faces its third year of drought and LADWP customers are currently under Phase 3 watering restrictions of 2-days-a-week watering. This rebate increase is the latest tool in a suite of rebates and programs to help customers conserve water and save on their bills.
