WHAT:
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) invites the public to attend the Chatsworth Nature Preserve Earth Day Open House. After a two-year COVID-19 hiatus, LADWP is once again hosting this beloved community event, when we open the gates to the Chatsworth Nature Preserve in celebration of Earth Day.
This family-friendly event held at the City of Los Angeles’ only nature preserve will feature a traditional Native American Blessing, guided nature hikes, live animal exhibits, community resource fair, Native American Storytelling, face painting and food trucks. LADWP will also have an informational booth where attendees can stop by to learn more about how they can conserve water and receive free giveaways.
The event is being held in partnership with co-hosts Santa Susana Mountain Park Association, Sky Valley Volunteers and the Herp Connection.

Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE:
Chatsworth Nature Preserve entrance at Valley Circle Boulevard (from Plummer Street, approx. 1 mile west from Topanga Canyon Blvd), Chatsworth, CA 91311

VISUALS:
Community members participating in guided nature hikes and enjoying the local flora and fauna and 100+ year old oak trees amidst the beauty of the Chatsworth Nature Preserve and vernal pool. The preserve is a regional draw for migratory and native bird species. There will also be a Traditional Native American Blessing at the event start, as well as live animal exhibits, storytelling, and face painting.
