BACKGROUND
This event is part LADWP’s Cool LA initiative, which helps customers – especially older adults, income-qualified individuals and families and those living in underserved communities – better manage the impacts of extreme heat. Extreme heat endangers health and well-being for those living in “heat islands” like South L.A. – areas where the average temperature is a few degrees hotter than surrounding regions.
Cool LA is one of LADWP’s Powered by Equity initiatives: a collection of programs that ensures that no Los Angeles community is left behind as the city moves toward a clean energy future. Learn more at LADWP.com/PoweredByEquity.
