BISHOP, CA (May 22, 2019)– This Memorial Day weekend, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is excited to take part in the annual Mule Days celebration in Bishop, CA. What started as a one-day event to kick off the “packing” season of the region and celebrate the incredible versatility of mules, grew over the last 50 years to the Mule Days celebration it is today – six full days of 14 shows, 700 mules, and good old-fashioned fun.
Over 30,000 families and rodeo fans of all ages are expected to witness this part test of skills, part Wild West Show at the Tri-County Fairgrounds and Mike Boothe Arena.
“Bishop is the center for recreational activity in the Eastern Sierra, and we are pleased to be a part of the Mule Days tradition – a unique event that draws scores of people who can enjoy the festivities and also take advantage of the pristine lands the Eastern Sierra offers for recreational opportunities like hiking, fishing, and biking,” said Clarence Martin, LADWP Aqueduct Manager.
LADWP is a proud sponsor of the annual Mule Days celebration, and will host a booth located at the Heritage Arts Building, engaging event-goers on LADWP information and career opportunities. For more event information visit www.muledays.org.
