LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) ranked second in the nation among utilities in the category for Most Trusted Brands among utility business customers in a Cogent Reports™ study released by Market Strategies International. Of the 60 electric utilities ranked by the survey, LADWP’s score of 793 was just two points from the highest scoring utility, Georgia Power. LADWP’s Brand Trust score is up 49 points from the previous year’s survey results.
“This ranking directly reflects our enhanced focus on customer service,” LADWP General Manager David H. Wright said. “We are committed to continuing this positive momentum and building upon it. We are working hard to improve the customer experience, which includes providing among the most reliable water and electric service in the Country, but it also means providing excellent customer service.”
In total, the study surveyed 10,486 utility business customers to develop the Brand Trust Index used to rank utilities. The index was based on 35 rating questions that relate to six factors, including: Customer Focus, Community Support, Reliable Quality, Communications Effectiveness, Environmental Dedication and Company Reputation and Advocacy.
Of the individual strategic factors measured, LADWP was ranked as “National Best in Class” for both Community Support and Environmental Dedication.
