LOS ANGELES — Currently, 32,885 of LADWP’s 1.4 million customers are without electricity, and LADWP crews continue to work restore power to all customers impacted by the outages brought about by today’s high winds. High winds and yesterday’s rains caused multiple outages due to downed power lines.
LADWP crews have restored electricity to nearly 66,000 customers since the storm began yesterday. Rain and wind caused severely dried out palm fronds, tree branches and other debris to fall on power lines. LADWP crews continue to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. The following communities have the most number of customers currently impacted:
LADWP calls on all customers to be careful around downed or dangling power wires or poles. Always assume a downed line is still energized. Never touch one. Report any downed power lines immediately by calling the LADWP at 1-800-DIAL-DWP. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911.
