LOS ANGELES (February 28, 2025) — The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will open the Unified Utilities Rebuild Operations Center (UUROC) at the Pacific Palisades Recreation Center this Saturday, March 1, 2025, where customers impacted by the Palisades Fire can directly access LADWP services to help them rebuild, turn on and off water and power services, and receive answers to billing questions. Soon, other utility services provided by corporate and government partners will also offer one-stop services at the center.
The center is in the gymnasium at the Pacific Palisades Recreation Center, 851 Alma Real Dr. The outside areas of the recreation center suffered fire damage, but LADWP construction crews, engineers and architects have transformed the gym into a local, full-service rebuild operations center. The center will be open Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Days and hours subject to change. On-site parking is available.
“LADWP crews have worked around the clock since the Palisades Fire to restore power to the Palisades area. The opening of UUROC is the next phase in LADWP’s commitment to serve our customers in the rebuilding of the community,” said Janisse Quiñones, LADWP Chief Executive Officer and Chief Engineer. “We want to be easily accessible to our customers who are already dealing with so much as they begin to rebuild their homes and businesses.”
LADWP representatives are available to discuss immediate and future needs with customers and guide them through the request process for the following services: starting and stopping water and power service; account inquiries; electric service repair or replacement; electric meter spots; electrical panel replacement; and electrical panel upgrades. Representatives are also available to discuss entire build plans (site and/or architectural plans, electrical load schedule, electrical single line diagram) with customers or their contractors or designees.
As conditions change and customer rebuilding efforts advance, LADWP is committed to having the resources available to support our customers’ utility restoration and account needs and provide them as quickly as possible.
“The residents and business owners of Pacific Palisades are not just our customers. They are our neighbors, friends, family, and colleagues. As they face the tremendous task of rebuilding this community, LADWP is here to help them conveniently access information and resources,” said John Vanacore, UUROC’s Incident Commander.
Since the January Palisades fire, LADWP has made tremendous progress to complete temporary repairs, restoring power to nearly all homes and businesses in the Pacific Palisades area that are able to safely receive power. As of Feb. 11, approximately 700 burned and destroyed poles have been removed, more than 50,000 feet of new 4.8 KV cable has been installed, and more than 2,000 feet of secondary wire has been replaced. LADWP also continues to work hard to restore water quality in the Pacific Palisades and neighboring areas impacted by a Do Not Drink notice. Earlier this week, LADWP restored water safe drinking water to about 2,000 impacted residential and commercial customers in the Pacific Palisades.
