LADWP Launches Interactive Water Quality Restoration Dashboard to Keep Palisades Customers Better Informed of Testing Results and Progress
Los Angeles (February 24, 2025) – The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has launched an interactive Water Quality Restoration Dashboard to provide essential updates and information for residents affected by the “Do Not Drink” notice in effect in most portions of Pacific Palisades and adjacent LADWP service areas.
“As customers throughout Pacific Palisades begin the recovery process and our water system staff work to flush, test the water and work to lift the Do Not Drink notice in effect in the area, this new online tool puts timely and transparent information at our customers’ fingertips,” said LADWP CEO & Chief Engineer Janisse Quiñones.
Customers in the affected areas, which include most of the 90272 Zip Code and portions of the LADWP Service Area immediately south of 90272, north of San Vicente Blvd. can now use the dashboard to locate their address on an interactive map to determine their corresponding water service zone within the affected area. For added clarity, the dashboard specifies each zone’s current restoration status while providing preliminary test results and progress updates for testing in each zone.
Key Features of the Water Quality Restoration Dashboard:
- Interactive Map: Includes an interactive map to easily check if your address is within the impacted area and identify your service zone.
- Flushing Progress: Identifies each step of the restoration process and how we are working with regulators to meet standards.
- Zone Information: View the status of water restoration efforts, organized by service zone.
- Preliminary Test Results: Access updated health-based water quality testing data by zone.
LADWP is working with the California State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water (CA-DDW) to systematically flush, clean, and rigorously test the water system across the affected areas. A rigorous and thorough process of sampling and retesting ensures that water served to customers meets all regulatory water quality standards before the “Do Not Drink” notice can be lifted.
Residents are reminded that the “Do Not Drink” notice remains in effect for impacted areas, and bottled water should be used for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, making ice, and other necessary uses. Complimentary bottled water is available for affected customers at designated LADWP distribution locations.
