Virtual Meetings Set Feb. 26 and March 3
LOS ANGELES (February 17, 2022) —The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) invites customers and community members to participate in upcoming virtual community meetings on February 26 and March 3 to provide input on LA100 Equity Strategies, a research effort aimed at ensuring a just and equitable transition to 100% clean energy for Los Angeles.
In March 2021, LADWP and NREL released the groundbreaking Los Angeles 100% Renewable Energy Study (LA100), which found that Los Angeles can achieve reliable, 100% renewable power as early as 2035. However, more work is needed to find strategies that achieve a just and equitable clean energy transition that benefits all Angelenos. In June 2021, LADWP launched LA100 Equity Strategies to ensure the path to 100% carbon-free energy is equitable as well as achievable.
LA100 Equity Strategies, a two-year project in partnership with NREL and UCLA, brings together LA-based community-based organizations and other stakeholders in a Steering Committee to guide this unprecedented effort. NREL and UCLA researchers will analyze how various LADWP programs can be improved, expanded or developed to improve equity, incorporating what community members themselves feel is needed to achieve a more equitable energy future.
Through these upcoming community meetings, community members will have the opportunity to learn more about the project, participate in group discussions, and provide direct input that will inform how the research is conducted.
The community meetings are scheduled as follows:

10 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. Register
Thursday, March 3, 2022 – Spanish with English interpretation
