An LADWP crew lifted up by bucket trucks to make repairs to a power pole.
SEPTEMBER 9, 2024 (LOS ANGELES)–As of 8 a.m., Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) crews working overnight were able to reduce the number of customers affected down by half, with the current number of customers without electric service at 7,800 out of LADWP’s 1.5 million electric customers. There are currently 100 separate outage incidents which affect small numbers of customers at the community level. This is proving challenging when it comes to the ability to restore a higher number of customers at one time. That’s due to the fact that each restoration on small, localized outages, yields a small number of customers restored and the reason why it may take longer than 24 hours for a crew to respond to an outage. We are asking customers whose outage response times extend beyond 24 hours to call our call center at 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397) so that we can reach out to them directly.
We are utilizing all available resources to support our restoration efforts at this time with the priority to restore the longest duration outages.
And an important reminder for customers who rely on life-saving devices powered by electricity. If you are experiencing a power outage and without backup power supply and need immediate medical attention, please call 9-1-1. Please make sure to call emergency services if you are in need of medical assistance.
