LADWP’s David Jacot Recognized for Contributions toward Energy and Water Conservation Goals
LOS ANGELES (March 27, 2019)—At its Fifth Annual Innovation Awards on March 27, the Los Angeles Better Buildings Challenge (LABBC) recognized David Jacot, P.E., Director of Energy Efficiency for the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP), as Innovator of the Year. The LABBC Innovation Awards recognize contributions toward the energy and water conservation goals laid out in the Mayor’s Sustainable City pLAn.
“This award goes to the individual who has made an outsized contribution to the industry, whose work is moving markets,” said LABBC Executive Director David Hodgins. “We are honored to recognize David’s innovative leadership.”
“David Jacot oversees all aspects of LADWP’s offerings and strategies designed to overcome market barriers to the comprehensive adoption of energy efficiency by LADWP’s customers,” said Nancy Sutley, LADWP’s Chief Sustainability Officer. “Under his watch, LADWP has been able to streamline processes to improve both program delivery and the customer experience.”
Jacot has also partnered with SoCal Gas and the Southern California Public Power Authority to expand joint incentive program offerings and helped develop the most aggressive efficiency targets in the nation.
“I had his job before, so I know how hard it is,” said Gary Gero, Chief Sustainability Officer for the County of Los Angeles. “For him to provide a one-stop shop for customers is a tremendous accomplishment.”
LADWP operates the largest public power portfolio of energy efficiency programs in the nation, comprised of a broad array of energy resource acquisition and market transformation programs serving LADWP’s customers and trade ally networks.
