Crews are making temporary repairs to reenergize homes quickly
LOS ANGELES (February 7, 2025) – Over the last four weeks, LADWP electric crews and mutual aid partners have been working 16 hour shifts, 7 days a week, to safely restore electric service to the Pacific Palisades area, focusing their efforts on areas with the least damage to power distribution infrastructure. Tremendous progress has been made and temporary restoration of all customers whose homes can receive power is expected in the coming days.
As of Thursday, February 6, power has been restored to 5,718 customers in Pacific Palisades. Crews are working towards a target goal of restoring an estimated 1,200 remaining residential customer homes that are capable of having power safely restored, by Sunday, February 9. Some individual restorations may take more time based on the complexity of the repairs which can only be identified once crews temporarily restore power to a circuit.
Since the restoration efforts began, crews have removed approximately 700 burned and destroyed poles, installed more than 50,000 feet of new 4.8 KV cable, and replaced more than 2,000 feet of secondary wire. Progress continues daily with crews setting poles, stringing wires, and installing transformers in an effort to get as many customers reenergized as possible.
Crews are focusing construction and restoration work in areas where repairs can be most readily and efficiently completed to restore service to larger groups of customers wherever possible.

Crews face challenging conditions in repairing power distribution infrastructure in the Pacific Palisades. |
If your home or business has been cleared for reentry and your power is out, but other homes or businesses near yours have been restored, please first check your circuit breakers. If your power is still out, call us at 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397) to report it so we can assign a crew to follow-up on your individual service. You can also report it on at ladwp.com/outages.
As circuits are reenergized, there may be portions of circuit where service cannot be energized at this time because they require more complex repairs that require additional time to complete. Restoring power to customers in areas in and around the heaviest burned area will continue to be the biggest challenge moving forward. Looking ahead, as homes and businesses are rebuilt, LADWP will mobilize to connect those customers to our grid.
For customers whose homes or businesses were damaged or destroyed in the fire, we understand this is an incredibly difficult time. If you receive a past-due notice, please disregard it.
