Temporary Water Service Established for Affected Businesses
LOS ANGELES (January 3, 2019) – LADWP crews continue to make progress on repairs to the damaged 24-inch water main at Sunset Boulevard and Beaudry Avenue in Echo Park. A 5-foot section of pipe from the blowout was removed and a new section has been installed. Temporary connections have been installed to reroute water service to affected business customers during repairs. Backfilling and paving of the street will begin approximately at 8pm this evening.
Water service was restored to all affected residential customers this morning.
Beaudry Avenue between Sunset Boulevard and Temple Street remains closed and Sunset Boulevard has one lane of traffic open in each direction.
