Fairfax District Main Leaks

Update #1, 8:30 a.m.

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is responding to five water main leaks this morning in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles at the following locations:

900 block of Croft Avenue

5800 block of La Mirada Avenue

6000 block of Waring Avenue

1100 block of N. McCadden Place

Intersection of Fairfax Avenue & Third Street

Approximately 110 customers are experiencing service interruptions due to these leaks.

The leaks are related to inspection work that occurred yesterday at the Lower Franklin Reservoir, which serves this area of Los Angeles. As part of regular inspection protocol, the reservoir is taken offline and temporarily replaced by a different source of water. Operational changes such as these can cause fluctuations in pressure and expose weaknesses in older main lines.
